Poor Jax :(

Dave and I were talking tonight about how much Dave doesn't like Jackson and hopefully by next summer he won't have to work over there...
A few minutes later I could hear Jaxsen in his bedroom and he was crying, I went back there and asked him what's wrong and he sadly said..
"Daddy doesn't like me anymore" I said yes he does buddy why would you think that? He said "I heard Daddy say he doesn't like Jackson"
Poor kid thought we were talking about him and he was so upset. We told him Daddy was talking about Jackson Hole not Jaxsen Max and he said "Oh good cause I love you"

Let it snow.. Let it snow..

This was the first year that Jax was interested in actually helping make a snowman. We got a good dump last weekend so we suited up and went to work. The snow was still pretty fluffy so we just made a little one, but I think he turned out pretty cute!

Last night and today it's snowed so much you can't even see our little snow guy:( Guess it's time to upgrade to a full sized snowman. But there is nothing better to do on a nice snowy day than hang out in the house with my sweet little boy and watch.......... CHRISTMAS movies!!

Growing Up..

I know Jax is growing up right before my eyes, but when I stop and really watch, I realize just how much he has GROWN. He has the best imagination and loves to help in the kitchen (even though I sometimes don't think of it as help) but I just can't help but smile when I see him really cooking something up.

Halloween Catch Up

This year was such a fun year. Jax was so excited about all the halloween activities we all had a great time. He was begging do cut up a pumpkin so we went to the store and picked out a few of our favorite ones, then we brought them home and got to work. Dave cut the top off and let Jax gut them out. Jax pretended he was an excavator and was scooping up the pumpkin guts and stock piling them.. (such a boy) Then Dave carved them up with Jax instructing him how he wanted it to look.
I think they turned out pretty cute! He was so proud. Grandma and Grandpa Hatch also brought over a pumpkin and Jax drew a face on and Grandma Hatch did a heck of a good job carving around all his crazy lines and it turned out cute.. don't know why I didn't take any pictures of that :(
Then on Halloween day we had a BUSY.. Fun day. It started out at Grandma Barkdull's house making sugar cookies. This stemed from a visit Jax had with Grandma about 3 weeks ago. I took Jax up to her house to play and he said "Grandma how about you show me how to make sugar cookies today" Grandma laughed and said they would make Halloween cookies and that they did!! Jax was driving me CRAZY with all the sprinkles so Grandma sent me to the store to get a drink as soon as I left Jax told Grandma "Now that my mom is gone we can really have fun!!"
Then we cruised out to Idaho Falls to visit Papa in the hospital. Nothing like a cute dragon to make you feel better. It must have worked to because Papa came home just a few days later! Jax made a lot of people in the hospital smile and he also got candy at every floor we stoped at!
Then we rushed back to trick or treat on main street and the best part was we got to see Grandma Hatch at the bank!! We also trick or treated a few other must stop spots but I didn't get any pictures of that again :(

Random Happenings

Jax usually has me cut the meat off the ribs for him, but tonight he wanted to eat it right off the bone "just like my dad does"
I finally found Jax a bedspread set that we liked.

The other morning I woke up to this sweet note. Dave leaves for work at 4:30 am and of course I am still fast asleep so when I came out into the kitchen I found this.. what a good way to start my day! Love you babe

Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day Weekend, we all loaded up and headed down to my grandpa's house to get his firewood ready for winter. We loaded up the chainsaws's and the tractor and were on our way. We worked hard Saturday and Sunday but we were in such good company it didn't feel like work. We pulled the logs out of the stack, sawed them, split them, loaded them and unloaded them. Jax was good help in the tractor, he had to show his Grandpa Hatch how to drive that Kubota.

Sam and Seth came over to help and they were such great workers. Jax wanted to be just like Seth, he thought he was just the coolest kid around!

We did 7 trailer loads and had a great time doing it!

Jax LOVES his Great Grandpa Hatch and it makes my heart so happy that he has such a great relationship with him. Jax goes down and has Orange Juice with all the boys every Sunday morning and he looks forward to it all week!

Jaxsen's Teeth

This teeth story started a long time ago but the major work started on August 31st. Poor Jax was not blessed with good teeth, which considering Dave and I both have good teeth not sure where his came from? But anyways I luckily found a FANTASTIC dentist in Rexburg Dr. Spencer Mauseth @ Madison Pediatric Dentistry. He is amazing and we came up with a plan to get Jax's teeth looking good. So August 31st we took Jax to Rexburg to the surgical center and we started the process. Jax was not allowed any food or drink after midnight and we were scheduled for surgery at 11:00 am. We were so worried Jax wouldn't last but he did great, however his surgery was pushed back and he didn't get in until almost 1:00 pm. By then Dave and I were STARVING so I knew Jax must have felt the same way, but he was quite a trooper. We were able to stay with him while they got him all checked in and ready. Not sure who was more nervous (Jax or myself)

Luckily we had a great nurse Dave and he helped to ease Jax's nerves with some playful balloon faces. After this the Dr came in and talked with us and then the Anesthesiologist came in and talked with us and after that they took Jax out of my arms and back in the O.R. room. I was in tears and THANKFULLY Dave was home with me. They told us it would be about an hour so we went to grab some lunch. We came back and waited... and waited... and waited... they said they were just waiting for Jax to wake up so we could go back and see him. However I guess Jax was a little exhausted because 2 1/2 hours later we went back to check on him and found him like this..
He was just sound asleep. They had just unhooked him for the tubes and IV and I was able to scoop him up in my arms and hold him (the best feeling I've had since he was born) I was so scared about him going under anesthesia and the fact that he wasn't waking up was freaking me out. The nurse kept reassuring me that he was doing good just tired. Fianlly after 3 hours they told us we could take him home,(even though they like for them to wake up before they realease him) We got all the way home before he even attempted to open his eyes and was pretty groggy the rest of the night.
But the results are FANTASTIC!! They look so nice and will be good strong teeth for him to have the next 3-4 years! We are so happy with the results!
We went to his follow up appointment and Jax was just in heaven watching Toy Story on the ceiling while he waited. He thinks he needs a TV like that above his bed so he can watch movies when he goes to sleep! Funny boy

Dave's HOME

Dave finally got home on August 17, and ohh.. it's been a long 81/2 months with him working out of town, but we are so thankful now that he got a job here in Driggs and that he gets to come home at the end of the day! But when he came home from NY, he came with this new "Toy" and now he's addicted. Jax watched Dave shoot his bow for about 5 minutes before Jax got out his pretend bow and was shooting away, such a funny boy! He looks up to his daddy and wants to do ANYTHING he is doing. We are just so glad we are all home together!!

What a boy

Jaxsen is ALL boy.. loves anything to do with dirt and mud and if he gets to play in the dirt in his muck boots it's a win win.
He also loves just chilling in his toy room watching cartoons. I love this kid and his imagination.

Splish.. Splash

Last weekend I took Jax and Liza out to Rexburg Rapids and it was such a good time! We were there for 4 hours and Jax would have played until they kicked us out. They had a splash park, laxy river and 2 slides for big kids and 2 slides for little ones. It was the best 10$ I've spent in a long time!

Horse Ride

A few weekends ago we went on a horse ride up Teton Canyon and it was a such a beautiful day! Papa and Jax rode Junior, Liza rode Dancer and I rode Macarroni. We rode up to Devil's Staircase and back.. but the next day I was FEELING it!!

The Chuckers

My mom and I took Jax to an Idaho Falls Chuckers baseball game and it only took me about 10 minutes to remeber why I don't take him more often. He was ALL OVER the place.. up and down, in and out, round and round. He enjoyed the cotton candy more than the baseball game. But again it was a beautiful night and a chance to get out of the house!

Circus.. Circus..

We went to the circus in Rexburg and it was me and Jax's first circus. It was a good time, the elephants were amazing and Jax LOVED the tigers! We also got to ride on Jenny the elephant and Jax rode on a pony. I was so surprised Jax even wanted to ride on the elephant, he is terrified of hights (we couldn't even sit higher than the second row on the bleachers because he said it was too high) however we had a great time.
He just starred in aww.. at the tigers

4th of July Fun

This year, the 4th was a little different for us, but still the same. It was in the same place, same food, same fun. It was different because there was no Dave, no Andrea, no Tyler and no Parker. But we tried to make the best out of it.. and we did! Tim was so great with Jax, always playing with him and keeping him busy. All the kids this year played so well together.
We had our usual hot dog roast followed with smores. It was just so fun to see all the kids play together. We only had a few fights.. but that's to be expected.
The parade this year was the typical Victor Parade. Lots of fun floats, lots of candy and just an all around good time. Jax spent most of the parade on Papa's shoulders until he decided to get down and sit on the flatbed. Every once in a while he would ask for some candy and someone would get him a piece and he would just sit and enjoy.
The kids were never to far away from Papa. And one night papa needed help with the horses.. and he had plenty of helpers (not necessarily the same as help)
Jax and Ethan were good buddies this year. They played and laughed and chased each other around.
And after everyone had left on Tuesday morning we came home and Jax went out like a light! He was pooped! It was a long weekend full of fun and sun, followed by no naps, late nights and early mornings, we needed a vacation from this vacation!

Yellowstone Trip

The week before Dave left for New York we took Jax to yellowstone to try to see some buffalo. It was a beautiful day to go and we were so excited just to be together.
Well we saw some buffalo.. Lots and Lots of buffalo, no other animals but plenty of buffalo. We saw some up close, and some far away.
We stoped to walk around the board walk and see the stinky paint pots, Jax thought they were pretty cool and like to watch them bubble up.
And of course we had to stop by Old Faithful. Just as we pulled into the parking lot it started down pouring rain on us. But we dind't let that stop us, we ran into the lodge and had an ice cream cone while we waited for old faithful to erupt. But Jax and Dave weren't about to let a little rain stop them from watching it. By the time we got back into the car we all looked like we just got out of the shower, but we had a great time and we had great company.

Oh May..

May was a busy month and obviously I didn't get much blogging done (don't ask why I didn't do it in June) but I'm catching up now! These are the beautiful flowers Dave sent me for Mother's Day. It was a great surprise and so very thoughtful.
Grandma and Papa Barkdull promised Jax a trip to Gringo's for his birthday, just so he could wear the sombrero. Well things got busy and we didn't make it out until May but he got the sombrero and all is well in the world again.
Also Grandma & Papa's horse Princess had her baby mule Rojo (because he's red) and luckily we were able to go out and see the cute little guy. Jax was also the first one to ride Rojo and he did good (like a real cowboy)
Jax was a little apprehensive about petting Rojo but we explained to him that Rojo doesn't have teeth yet so he can't bite him and that put his mind at ease but was still skiddish..
While Dave was home on one of his weeks we took Jax to the Zoo. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a lot of the animals out yet because they were still in their winter homes (wish we had a winter home) But they had a bunch of monkey's and Jax was enjoying himself. It was so nice to have Dave home and for him to get to take Jax to the Zoo. We all had a great time!

Happy Easter

Well the Easter Bunny found us.. Even though we had just bearly gotten back for Arizona he was able to track us down.. and again he didn't disappoint. He left Jax a cool new baseball mit, and some soft ball to practice with.
Jax walked right past his basket to come into my room to give me morning loves, I had to remind him that the Easter Bunny might have came for a visit. He also got some moon sand (which he LOVES..) The Bunny also hid some eggs around the house and Jax did a great job spotting them.
Then Grandma and Grandpa Hatch called and said that the Easter Bunny must have been confused because he left some presents for Jax at their house too.. Silly Bunny. So we went down there to find a basket full of surprises and another egg hunt! New golf clubs and a new baseball bat, now he is begging me to take him to the golf course. but the snow has to melt first..
