Random Happenings

Jax usually has me cut the meat off the ribs for him, but tonight he wanted to eat it right off the bone "just like my dad does"
I finally found Jax a bedspread set that we liked.

The other morning I woke up to this sweet note. Dave leaves for work at 4:30 am and of course I am still fast asleep so when I came out into the kitchen I found this.. what a good way to start my day! Love you babe

Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day Weekend, we all loaded up and headed down to my grandpa's house to get his firewood ready for winter. We loaded up the chainsaws's and the tractor and were on our way. We worked hard Saturday and Sunday but we were in such good company it didn't feel like work. We pulled the logs out of the stack, sawed them, split them, loaded them and unloaded them. Jax was good help in the tractor, he had to show his Grandpa Hatch how to drive that Kubota.

Sam and Seth came over to help and they were such great workers. Jax wanted to be just like Seth, he thought he was just the coolest kid around!

We did 7 trailer loads and had a great time doing it!

Jax LOVES his Great Grandpa Hatch and it makes my heart so happy that he has such a great relationship with him. Jax goes down and has Orange Juice with all the boys every Sunday morning and he looks forward to it all week!

Jaxsen's Teeth

This teeth story started a long time ago but the major work started on August 31st. Poor Jax was not blessed with good teeth, which considering Dave and I both have good teeth not sure where his came from? But anyways I luckily found a FANTASTIC dentist in Rexburg Dr. Spencer Mauseth @ Madison Pediatric Dentistry. He is amazing and we came up with a plan to get Jax's teeth looking good. So August 31st we took Jax to Rexburg to the surgical center and we started the process. Jax was not allowed any food or drink after midnight and we were scheduled for surgery at 11:00 am. We were so worried Jax wouldn't last but he did great, however his surgery was pushed back and he didn't get in until almost 1:00 pm. By then Dave and I were STARVING so I knew Jax must have felt the same way, but he was quite a trooper. We were able to stay with him while they got him all checked in and ready. Not sure who was more nervous (Jax or myself)

Luckily we had a great nurse Dave and he helped to ease Jax's nerves with some playful balloon faces. After this the Dr came in and talked with us and then the Anesthesiologist came in and talked with us and after that they took Jax out of my arms and back in the O.R. room. I was in tears and THANKFULLY Dave was home with me. They told us it would be about an hour so we went to grab some lunch. We came back and waited... and waited... and waited... they said they were just waiting for Jax to wake up so we could go back and see him. However I guess Jax was a little exhausted because 2 1/2 hours later we went back to check on him and found him like this..
He was just sound asleep. They had just unhooked him for the tubes and IV and I was able to scoop him up in my arms and hold him (the best feeling I've had since he was born) I was so scared about him going under anesthesia and the fact that he wasn't waking up was freaking me out. The nurse kept reassuring me that he was doing good just tired. Fianlly after 3 hours they told us we could take him home,(even though they like for them to wake up before they realease him) We got all the way home before he even attempted to open his eyes and was pretty groggy the rest of the night.
But the results are FANTASTIC!! They look so nice and will be good strong teeth for him to have the next 3-4 years! We are so happy with the results!
We went to his follow up appointment and Jax was just in heaven watching Toy Story on the ceiling while he waited. He thinks he needs a TV like that above his bed so he can watch movies when he goes to sleep! Funny boy

Dave's HOME

Dave finally got home on August 17, and ohh.. it's been a long 81/2 months with him working out of town, but we are so thankful now that he got a job here in Driggs and that he gets to come home at the end of the day! But when he came home from NY, he came with this new "Toy" and now he's addicted. Jax watched Dave shoot his bow for about 5 minutes before Jax got out his pretend bow and was shooting away, such a funny boy! He looks up to his daddy and wants to do ANYTHING he is doing. We are just so glad we are all home together!!
