In order to get the kids though the last 2 months of school field trips are a must. We went to
Tautphaus Park Zoo and it was a beautiful, sunny day. There were lots of parents so we split the kids into groups of 3 and it was the perfect amount of kids to get to check everything out without worrying about where your kids were. This zoo is perfect for a field trip because it just forks off to dead ends so when you get to the dead end you turn around and take the other fork and its a great way to see the whole park in a short amount of time. They had a great variety of animals and it was a great day. We spent about an hour and a half at the zoo then went to the park for lunch and play before loading the bus to head home.

Another field trip was to Breckenridge Farm. They showed the kids how they feed the cows with their horses and wagon and even showed them a new baby calf. The farm is not far from the school so it was easy to just pop over for a little break from school.
Through out the year the kids have been working on writing short stories. At the end of the year we divide the school into groups and listen to each others stories. Our group had 2 kinders, 2 1st graders, 1 2nd grader and 1 3rd grader. It was so fun to hear the different stories and their different way of story telling. I love our little school for all the opportunities it gives the kids to learn from kids in each grade.
